My father, robert salem was diagnosed with myotonic muscular dystrophy in 2003. Twelve years ago he just had a small limp his walk, I watched him go from a limp, to needing our hand walking up steps, to lifting his back while he fought to keep his strength. Till just up until this past year, completely lose that strength.

Two months ago he required a surgery to have a stomach feeding tube, he lost the ability to swallow correctly causing water to pass into his lungs developing pnemounia. We all were for this surgery, we wanted it to prolong his life. Either before or during the surgery my father had a heart attack and was put into icu for a week. He has been home on hospice for two weeks now, march 28th, he told everyone he can't breathe normal anymore or fight this awful disease.

He can't eat anymore so we expect him to pass soonand nothing has been harder to deal with in my families life. It would make him and my whole family beyond happy to be able to afford his funeral. We have very low income him and my mother not being able to work, I'm currently the only person working. Anything will help go towards this funeral, I just want to able to give him that last piece of mind.
