Hello my name is Lisa. I never had to do something like this before and don't know where to begin.
This is Steven and he just turned 34yrs old. Steven had a normal day at the doctor's office having a physical. Once the physician received his blood work he discovered that Steven had very low white cells. This led him to the hematologist at Miriam Hospital. After more blood work and a scheduled bone marrow, Steven received that phone call that no one would ever want to receive. In one day is whole life has changed! He was told he had Leukemia and needed to be admitted right away. This was on March 1, 2016 and he started his chemo. He's still hospitalized, and since then it has been nothing but test after test, several blood transfusions and platlet. He's endured so much pain physically, mentally and emotionally. Along with the emotional part of it, financially it's very hard on him. He was laid off from work 1 month prior to all this and his medical insurance and unemployment ends in a couple of weeks. It's draining and hard enough to stress about our health and Life but to also worry about medical bills and the daily responsibilities that pile up can put someone over the edge. Steven has a big heart and a great sense of humor that this is eaten him up inside but he will never express it. As he lays in bed I know he is thinking about bills and what he needs to pay along with trying to find a way to provide for his son Izaiah. It's going to be a long road for him and the last thing I want him to worry about is how he's going to pay his bills. We all need help at some point in our lives and a little bit goes a long way. Your generosity would mean the world to him and he would be forever grateful May God give him the strength and many more years of Life
