Memorial Service

Hello,

This past 19 months has been very trying for all of us as individuals, and for the Local as a whole. We have suffered job losses, financial set backs and many personal set backs. We have also suffered the loss of 5 of our brethren.

In my 20+ years in the Local, I do not remember a time when we have faced so much loss at the same time. Five very special stagehands have left us. Five very special people whose families couldn't give them a proper memorial at the time of their deaths, because of COVID restrictions.

We feel the need to honor our people.

The reality is that we need to ask for some help from the Local.

While Overture is donating the venue and equipment, they cannot cover the labor costs... and our Local itself cannot afford to cover the labor costs. Those working the event will be given the option to donate their labor, they are not obligated to... and if anyone is injured during the call, they will not be given the option to donate their services. volunteers can't be covered by insurance.
