Lacy needs us! Cancer SUCKS and costs alot
Donation protected
Hello friends, family, acquaintances and soon to be friends :)
We are writing to you today in hopes of rallying around a friend in need. To give you a bit of back story. This year hasn’t been the easiest for our friend Lacy. I guess some would say it has been a true $#!% show. Earlier this year Lacy went through a divorce. That alone is something no one wants to go through. She had to move her home, move her business and completely start over. Not even a few months later, Lacy noticed a mole on her backside had started to change. She decided to go and get it checked out. Sure enough, results came back and it was stage three melanoma. Just like that… the triple whammy. Love, career and health were all hit.
Now if you know our friend Lacy, one thing you know about her is that she is not a complainer. Her reaction to this news was no different. She took the cancer diagnosis with a grain of salt and kept on grinding, as she does.
Lacy is caring, loyal, funny AF, stubborn, independent and so very loving. She runs her own business and is the most talented interior designer we know. Lacy works her ass off and helps transform their houses into the more gorgeous, functional and stunning homes imaginable.
Our hope is that we can rally behind Lacy during this difficult time as a small business owner and get her some financial relief! We want her to be able to focus on getting her health back without the constant worry of making money doing design work. She will need money to cover the cost of Immunotherapy, surgery, scans, Dr appts and most importantly time away from her business. If you are a small business owner, you know this is nearly impossible to stop and Lacy needs us right now so she can take a pause. Taking time for yourself in a small business doesn’t come without costs. When you wear all the hats of your own company it’s hard to consult with HR about your PTO.
Lacy has gone through three immunotherapy treatments to try to shrink the cancer prior to taking it out. On Friday, she will have the cancerous mole removed, as well as seven lymph-nodes from around her groin. They will have to put a drain for the lymph-nodes, as well. On Friday they will also be putting in a port so she is able to get her ongoing Immunotherapy treatments for the next 12 months.
The money received will be used to help support Lacy's medical bills. Lacy has mentioned feeling especially stressed about the scans she will need to receive every three months to see if the Immunotherapy is doing what it's supposed to do. These scans can cost about $5000 per visit.
Lacy has built a community of people around her that love her and care about her dearly. We are hoping to get the word out to those people! If you have met Lacy in her shop, had her work at your home or know what it's like to run your own business, we would love your help. In this season, the season of giving, we hope you will consider a donation. If you are unable to donate (we understand money can be tight especially around the holidays) please pass this on to friends and family. Any help spreading the word would be fantastic.
All our love - Nikki, Anna, CeCe and Terry
