This is Dakota, she is my best friend's daughter. She is 20 years old and currently at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She has been there going on 2 months. She had a bad accident and was told in the beginning that she was brain dead and would be like a vegetable. The hospital tried to get her mom and dad to pull the plug from the beginning but they knew she was still in there and refused to pull the plug. All the things the hospital said she would never do she has done. She has opened her eyes, she's moving her arms and legs, she responding to her parents voice. And they are not giving up, Dakota is going to make it thru this. However during this process her mom, Cheri has been unable to work, she is by Dakota's side every day 7 days a week from morning until they kick her out at night, she has lost her health insurance, her car insurance and other things. She is in dire need of financial assistance. This is the season for giving so please anyone that can help, even a little it would be greatly appreciated.
On a side note, an acquaintance of Cheri's had previously set up a gofundme page for Dakota, the page had raised almost $500.00 but when Cheri needed the money the girl that started it said her account was hacked and the money was gone. We all know what really happened to that money. Its a shame that there are people out there that would actually do this to someone, especially when they know how much they needed this money. Anyway please don't let that deter you from giving on this page. This money will go directly to Cheri, not to me.
