Orilagba Retreat was established in 2017 in the tropical hills of Bayamon Sur, Puerto Rico, a Tropical Rain Forest region. It will be a community center of healing, learning and spiritual empowerment composed of an Òrìşà sacred grove, botanical garden and various public meeting spaces. Our goal is to profoundly enrich the lives of every individual as well as those within the local community and abroad.
Orilagba Retreat started via a test in worthiness, hope and faith in the òrìşà. My mother had just passed and while mourning her passing, I was managing her estate while searching for my next move. During this profound healing and soul-searching process, I reconnected with my life purpose. Manifest within the core of my being, was a memory. The memory of my life goal, to build and establish a retreat to serve as a place for mind, body and soul healing, spiritual development, learning and holistically connecting with nature. It is through this experience that I stumbled on the exquisite, yet badly dilapidated Orilagba mountain retreat.
The property was not only vacant for 2 years but had also sustained damage from Tropical Storm Maria. Its sheer size and needed renovation were exciting and overwhelming, yet at the same time, humbling and comforting to say the least. Spirit immediately identified the property as our new home, Orilagba Mountain Retreat. Since the two years I have managed the property, many renovations have been done yet there’s still much work to do. Yet even in its current state, we’ve been able to host at over 100 people to the space for spiritual development training, medicine making and empowerment retreats.
It is my dream to open up the property fully to the community, so everyone can experience profound spiritual enlightenment, healing, growth, and learning all withing the context of a beautiful lush and breathtaking tropical jungle paradise in the mountain. To do so, we need your help to implement necessary repairs.
Our goal is to raise $75,000 for necessary property improvements required for normal operations inclusive of:
· Roof Repairs (FIRST PRIORITY)
· Rainwater Harvesting System
· Window Replacement
· Solar Power (Currently Running on a Generator)
· Deck Repair
· Internal Plumbing
The roof has sustained substantial damage and will therefore be the 1st leg of the project. Other aspects of the project will be completed in phases.
The aforementioned repairs are required to open the retreat fully to the public, allowing all to experience the full glory of Orilagba, as well as to offer additional accommodations and services.
Once all aspects of repairs and improvements have been completed, in Phase 1, Orilagba will be fully operational and be able to move into additional phases of expansion to include, other necessary renovations and facilities upgrades.
NON-PROFIT STATUS
Orilagba is in the process of establishing itself as a non-profit religious organization offering religious and spiritual services to the community. We strive to always give back to the community and organizations in need, and as such, are committed to donating 5% of funds raised towards a non-profit ORGANIZATION or a cause as a means to continue to support our deeply rooted desires to impact societies and individuals lives.
DONATION LEVELS AND INCENTIVES
All financial donations are accepted whether big or small. There is no minimum or maximum amount as long as we can reach our ultimate goal. Once these renovations are done, the plan is for the retreat to be self-funding with the exceptions of special projects.
PREMIUM INCENTIVES:
$100+ Donations of $100 or more will be entered into to receive a beautiful Ogba Ase T-Shirt designed by Salewa Passmore. (Multiple shirts to be raffled)
$250+ Donations of $250 or more will be entered to receive a wooden Ogba Ase Plaque. (Multiple Ogba Ase Plaques to be raffled)
$500+ Donations of $500 or more will be entered to receive a Deluxe Exotic Incense Kit. (Multiple Incense Kits to be Raffled)
$1,000+ Donations of $1,000 or more will grant donors invitation to attend a full day of spiritually empowering festivities including a private opening ceremony and reception as well as tour of Orilagba Retreat grounds.
