On September 7, while celebrating a bachelor party in Richfield, Utah, Shawn was the passenger in a violent car crash that left him with two broken arms. The accident changed his life in an instant. Since then, he has undergone three surgeries on his arms and wrist. His left wrist was so badly damaged that doctors described it as being “dust.” The road to recovery is long, and he will need extensive physical therapy, especially for his left wrist, to regain any real use of his hands.
Before the accident, Shawn worked in HVAC—a career that relies entirely on the use of his hands. Now, Shawn is completely unable to work or support himself. Everyday tasks such as showering and getting dressed have proven to be extremely difficult. Even the little things such as opening a jar or even a bag of chips have become impossible for him to do on his own. The loss of independence has been incredibly difficult on him, both physically and emotionally.
The journey and the rehab that is necessary for Shawn to get back to working HVAC is going to be incredibly long and difficult. The funds raised will go directly towards his living expenses and the ongoing therapy he will need to recover. Any contribution, no matter the size, will make a real difference and help him cover essential costs while he focuses on healing and rebuilding his life. Your support means everything as he works toward regaining his strength and independence.
