Kayleigh Kicks Cancer!

Donation protected
Two weeks ago our family's life was changed forever when my niece, Kayleigh was suddenly diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). The shock and fear of any cancer is terrifying, but trying to explain to a very smart 6 year old how she will not leave the four walls of Children's Hospital for at least a month was just heartbreaking. Kayleigh has already begun chemotherapy and has had numerous lumbar punctures to determine the presence of cancer cells in her spinal fluid. She is strong and her little body is fighting hard to beat this. While Vanessa, Paul, and her brother, Ben, have been truly amazing sources of strength, their family faces two years of chemotherapy treatment as well as yearly checks to ensure the cancer has not returned.

Kayleigh will most likely not attend first grade, start cheerleading, or be able to experience the carefree life every little girl deserves. While we are fortunate and have a support network between us, we decided to create this fund because ALL is a cancer that has affected every aspect of life and we want her to be secure for whatever hardship this brings. We are deeply grateful for the gifts and love that has come our way already and we want to ensure that anything- from treatment, to lost wages, to travel, living expenses and comfort items for Kayleigh are available to them. There is also no way we could possibly repay Boston Children's Hospital for the care they have provided- but this is another way we can show our thanks by supporting PJ and Vanessa who can thank them in turn. We are very hopeful Kayleigh will leave BCH in remission in a few weeks and ultimately achieve a full cure, however in the meantime she will be limited to home. Please send a message of support and optimism to our family in any way you choose, it all helps- cards, texts and love in any form is welcomed and appreciated. Thank you near and far for the outpouring of support-please keep our family in your thoughts and prayers.
