Help me afford vision care and moving expenses
Donation protected
Heya Hiya,
My name is Fiona and I'm a transgirl writer who has been struggling with starting my transition. But I made a big bold move to get away from my old life into a new home with supportive friends. The move, however, was a big gamble since I didn't have a lot of savings or steady work to my name.
Thankfully, the gamble has worked and I am now working at a wonderful job. However, this job is seasonal and I'm about to enter the off season for a few months.
This comes with a double problem.
First, I've been diagnosed with a serious vision condition that, to treat without surgery (the cheaper safer option) would require an up front payment of $4000. Second, for reasons I won't share here, I will need to move out around autumn. While this gives me months to shop around for a new place that I can afford, I'll still need money for the down payment, as well as funds for the vision care.
So, that's what I need help with.
Here's the cost breakdown.
$4k of any money I earn (either in excess of my bills and livelihood and moving expenses), will be going straight to vision care. My vision has been a big problem and it's getting in the way of me getting a driver's license, as well as day to day tasks such as reading.
$3,000 covers just over 3 months of rent.
Anything beyond this will go towards furnishings and other incidentals to help make my life better.
Now while I can eventually afford this on my own when my job reenters the on-season in the autumn, I would rather get a jump on this sooner.
Thank you for reading this.
