Hey Everyone, my name is David and I’m asking for some help with upcoming costs for surgery. I currently have have insurance but co-pays are high for this type of surgery and follow up. Making ends meet is already a difficult task and with these additional costs it will make it harder to stay above or right at the waters mark.

In 2024, my career of almost ten years ended and I had to pick up the pieces and start over. This was a huge adjustment for me, and I was completely lost for almost the entire year trying to find something that I could subtain my bills but also made me feel appreciated and needed. I had a huge void to fill. My career was my life and a huge part of my identity. I have finally found a new family and a career I enjoy. I closed out 2024 with someone hitting my car, causing several thousands of dollars in damage. Such a hassle! And this year, 2025, has been a complete life change for me, I lost my Father in February and for the first living on my own. My living situation changed on mutual exchanges but has caused me to really question my well being mental health wise. It has been a journey. With all these life changes, I’ve taken on larger expenses, with larger challenges each month.

This month, I started having dizzy spells, nausea, and discomfort. Well, it turns out my pacemaker needs its battery replaced a year earlier than expected. I had heart failure in 2008 due to Viral Cardiomyopathy. We believe it came from complications and during my evacuation from Hurricane Katrina. With my new job, I have insurance, but I still have copays and other additional costs along with this surgery. I will have some changes to medication and will have several follow-ups with my cardiologist team over the next few months. There will be lots of out of pocket expenses. I appreciate any help, this is super humbling and really exposing my vulnerability. but we all need some help from time to time. Thank you again for considering helping me, surgery is September 29.
