James "JR" Wood was originally from Cleveland, and was a single father of two wonderful kids, 11-year-old son Jace and 14-year-old daughter Krystina.
Before deciding to go back to school in 2008, Wood worked in organized labor and real estate. In the face of the economic downtown, JR went back to school to be a role model to his two kids. JR graduated from Nevada State College with a BA in Psychology and a perfect 4.0 GPA.
At the time of his passing, JR was excelling academically at Boyd School of Law, and was a valued staff member of the Nevada Law Journal.
JR was a father, a friend, and a classmate.
He will be missed.
