Mikey's Funeral
Donation protected
Richard Michael Mendenhall Jr, or Mikey, was a 14 year old boy who was shot and killed by an 18 year old man.
The wounds of Mikey were so intense he died before the paramedics could reach him. They brought him back using CPR, but at the time Mikey had already had lack of oxygen for 20 minutes. Mikey was brain dead.
He was kept on life support for a few days while the hospital and his dad could prepare a organ donation. Mikey ended up donating his liver, heart, and kidneys to other children in need.
His father is having financial difficulties on raising enough funds for proper funeral preparations and has asked for help.
Mikey's story:
Mikey was a beautiful teen. Absolutely full of life, respect, and and wonder. He brought absolute joy to everyone he met.
Mikey was born on January 10th 2008 in Franklin Idaho. He was the 3rd born of Richard. He grew up in Idaho for a few years before leaving to California with his mother. She lost custody of Mikey, while his dad stayed in Utah. His dad fought for months to get Mikey back until the state of California finally allowed it.
Mikey and his littler sister moved to Ogden, Ut where he would spend the last few years of his life.
Mikey had many friends who loved him. He would spend every day with his friends as they became a large part of his life.
During the final day Mikey had on this planet, he was at his friends house when the newly moved in roommate brought out an illegal firearm that took his life.
Every penny will help raise awareness to this event, help with the medical costs, legal fees to bring justice, and funeral preparations.
Mikey was such a beautiful spirit and was always so eager to help when needed. He was loved by many and will be missed. This horrible event should have never happened, and due to negligence of a firearm by a restricted person Mikey was taken far too soon.
