EDIT (5/5/2025): So, turns out even the most affordable student visa is still unaffordable. So plans have changed and I am now pursuing a job seeker visa in Portugal, which is significantly more affordable. This new goal should cover the visa costs (proof of funds, processing, etc..), accommodation, tickets, and an immigration lawyer.

Hi friends. As you all know, for many years I have been trying to get out of Egypt, where there are no real prospects for my future and where I’m forced to stay closeted as an atheist out of fear for my safety. This year, I’ve applied to universities in Germany, the most affordable place I could obtain a student visa. Unfortunately, to apply for a student visa, you need to have 11,904 euros in a blocked account for each year to prove sufficient funds, and 324.90 euros in tuition per semester on top of that. I recently started learning German, but most jobs require at least B2-level proficiency in the language, and I will need money for the blocked account and tuition while I’m working on my German and looking for a job. I’m trying to raise enough money to cover the first two years while I get my feet on the ground, learn German, and find a job to support myself. Anything you can contribute to help me get out of this hellhole is much appreciated!
