Hello friends, family, and lovely strangers.

My name is Sarai. I’m taking the liberty on behalf of my loving mother, Crystal Sunshine, to create this fundraiser.

On Christmas Eve 2025, she started to feel rather sick. She then started to rapidly decline until finally deciding to go to the ER on New Year’s Day. They admitted her right away: double pneumonia. That night, she was transferred to ICU as her blood became septic. Two nights later, and a massive amount of steroids and antibiotics later, she was moved to a regular room. Getting better, but her skin was still blue. Fast forward to today, and she’s been transferred to a rehabilitation level at a new hospital as the steroids robbed her of the ability to walk and move without support. We are looking at weeks to months to years (praying for weeks) before she is able to regain strength and independence of movement and breath.

My mom lives “off grid” in an unfinished (work in progress) cabin. Today, while hooked up to oxygen, her work called to fire her. She is someone who never asks for help, 6 kids and a fire that keeps her going against all odds... Life has taken her to a complete stop and without the physical means to create a healthy and safe place for her to come home to.

I ask for any help, kindness, generosity, to keep our life up here on top of this mountain moving, and a place to bring our mom home to.
