Anthony's Medical Expenses

Anthony Vasile started this past weekend off as a chance to go the lake and relax for a day but it turned out to be quite different before the trip had finished. A really popular place to swim in Lake Whitney, Texas became a rough turn of events when Anthony jumped in the lake this past Saturday and was deeply impaled by a tree under water. What was going to be a simple break from studying quickly became a life or death emergency situation with a Helicopter Medivac ride to Baylor Hospital in Waco Texas in order to be helped. He has had a really rough four days in the hospital and the wound is still quite severe but after his surgery the doctors who are handling his care believe he is on the road to recovery. There is still going to be a lot to deal with in months to come but what is a bad situation could have been even worse. Although still very overwhelmed by the process Anthony is truly thankful for everyone who has reached out to wish him well. The hospital bills are going to exceed $45,000.00 for his surgery, hospital stay and the Medivac ride alone is over $40,000.00 for just 20 minutes!! $85,000.00 in bills would be devastating to almost anyone so we are trying to help him find a way through this. Anthony is currently applying for financial assistance through the hospitals programs they offer but the Medivac is a private company and will be less willing to bend on their bill. Situations like this can happen to any of us and these are the times we come together to try and help each other out.
