Helping the Hands
Donation protected
In 2020, Joe's heart went into an abnormal rhythm that required him to need an internal defibrillator. Since then, he has needed several cardiac procedures and has been seen by doctors locally in Little Rock, as well as at John's Hopkins and Vanderbilt. Recently, his condition has progressed to heart failure and he has been placed on the heart transplant list.
If you know Joe, you know at least one of these three things: he is fiercely passionate about his job as a flight nurse for Angel One Transport, he has never met a stranger, and his favorite past time is running. While his heart disease has taken away his ability to run, and more recently his ability to fly for ACH; Joe has remained positive, faithful, selfless, and full of dad jokes.
Because he never asks anyone for anything, we are sharing this to ask for prayers for Joe and his family. While the gift of a transplant is a blessing itself, the next few months and years are sure to bring about many new challenges and changes. The power of prayer (along with any monetary donation you are able to provide) will be sure to bring peace and comfort. *All donations will be given directly to Joe and his wife, Kim, to help with medical bills and expenses throughout this journey.
UPDATE: Joe went to the operating room on 11/20/23 and had a biventricular assist device placed on his heart to help with his perfusion. He will remain in the hospital until after he receives his heart transplant.
