Dominican Republic Medical Mission

Donation protected
My colleagues and I from the MGH Institute of Health Professions will be traveling to La Romana, Dominican Republic in early January 2020. We will be there on a week-long medical mission trip at a clinic that services the bateyes, which are towns surrounding sugar cane mills that consist of predominantly Haitian migrant workers and their families.

During this time we will be providing healthcare to about 150-200 children and adults per day and are currently in need of medical supplies and medication. Some of these medical supplies include bandages, gauze, and over the counter medications such as ibuprofen and multivitamins.

The families that live in the bateyes have limited access to basic healthcare, clean water and sanitation. This puts them at increased risk for many chronic and infectious diseases. It means a lot to us that you are taking your time to read this and to consider donating to our mission. The money we raise here will be used strictly for medical supplies and medications for the trip. Although we will only be there for a week, we hope to make a lasting difference in the lives of the families of La Romana.
