Hi Everyone! As many of you know, Amber Hernandez was recently diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer… technically termed Invasive Ductal Carcinoma… and was scheduled for a double mastectomy on July 27th. She was hoping to have reconstructive surgery performed the same day but due to complications during surgery the doctors could not complete the reconstruction. Thankfully, everything else went well though and she will soon be getting on the road to recovery.

Amber will have a minimum of 6 weeks recovery time from this surgery and will still need another surgery in the future and will likely need to undergo chemotherapy. During this time Amber will not be able to work and will need extra help at home to take care of her and her family. Amber’s wonderful husband Felipe will need to take time off from his full time job, as well as his own auto repair business to get Amber to and from weekly appointments, provide care for the children and handle day to day things at home.

My hope in creating this fund is to help Amber, Felipe and their 4 kids focus on her recovery, rather than stress about the loss of income and all the medical bills that are going to start rolling in very soon.

Amber and Felipe have helped so many of us countless times over the years. They are both the type of people to give us the shirt off their back so now is the time to repay a little of that kindness if we can.
