Help Jacob and his family
Donation protected
Jacob Schwander was a healthy, driven, happy 18 year old, looking forward to moving into a new town, starting a job at his dream company, and marrying his high school sweetheart. While moving into his new apartment in Idaho, he complained about sinus infection-like symptoms. He had very intense headaches and his right eye started becoming swollen and protruding. He was taken to the urgent care in town and was given antibiotics, but they didn't help. After a couple days of searching for answers, they found a tumor behind his right eye and in his nasal cavities.

He was diagnosed with stage 4 alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma, and is looking at 9 months of intense chemotherapy and 6 weeks of daily radiation. He had to pack up everything he had just unpacked in Idaho and move back to Portland, where he could get the best treatment. He and his now wife still got married, one week after he started his chemotherapy.
It has been 2 months since he started chemotherapy, and in one month he leaves for Seattle for 6 weeks straight to get daily radiation. Even with this intense treatment plan, Jake has been given a survival rate of 10%.
He spends a lot of time away from home now, at Randall Children's hospital (his cancer is a Pediatric cancer, which is why he is at a Children's hospital.) And with a cancer diagnosis, there comes a variety of unforeseen costs, even with great insurance. Driving back and forth to the hospital is a huge factor.
If you feel inclined to help Jacob and everyone surrounding him and helping him, you can help lighten the very heavy load by donating, as he and his wife and his family continue his treatments and spend time together.
I know so many people have been touched by Jacob, and so many of you absolutely love him. You know he has so much talent, a huge passion for Theology, and is so so funny. Prayers are always welcomed and appreciated
