Greetings to all in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Beloved Cecilia “Ceci” Akers was recently diagnosed with colon and liver cancer, and is in need of significant financial assistance in order to meet her medical needs.
Ceci is a loving mother to 18-year-old Isaiah Nelson and a devoted wife to Ramal Akers. She loves to cook and enjoys the company of family and friends. She is caring, compassionate and deeply loved by everyone who knows her.
For 14 years, Ceci worked at the Carlton Hotel as a Housekeeping Manager. Unfortunately, like many others during this Covid pandemic, she was laid off. To lessen the financial strain, Ceci and Ramal moved to North Carolina. While there, Ceci was not feeling well and went for a check-up, which resulted in a diagnosis of liver and colon cancer. The news was devastating. Ceci had to move back to New York for medical treatment and to be close to her family and friends. We are so grateful for the large network of emotional support she has received.
Ceci was admitted to Columbia Presbyterian Hospital. Though Ceci was treated well by the medical staff, she was still denied the opportunity to receive much -needed surgery and chemo therapy due to insufficient health insurance. Subsequently, Ceci was discharged from the hospital without proper medical care.
All aspects of Ceci’s life have been severely impacted by medical and financial hardships. The family is starting this GoFundMe as a way to alleviate the weight of medical bills, the cost of surgery, treatment and transportation to and from her appointments. Ceci would benefit from any amount you are able to contribute.
