My name is Jari Ubiera, and I’m reaching out with great vulnerability and hope. I am an undocumented immigrant who came to this country with dreams of building a better future for myself and my family. Recently, I went through one of the hardest experiences of my life — surviving domestic abuse.
I was married and in the process of applying for residency with my husband. Sadly, the person I trusted the most became abusive, and I had to run for my safety. I left with nothing — no savings, no stable place to stay, and very few resources to start over.
Right now, I am on the verge of losing the apartment we once shared. I have no family nearby, and my immigration status makes it that much harder to access many kinds of support or government assistance. I am doing my best to stay strong, but I need help to get back on my feet.
My dream is to start a new chapter in New York City, where I can find steady work, and continue pursuing my passion — becoming a DJ. Music has always been a source of strength and joy for me. It’s what kept me going even in my darkest moments, and I believe it can be the foundation for a brighter future.
Your donation will go toward:
Safe housing while I get back on my feet
Basic living expenses (food, transportation, phone bill, etc.)
Job search and DJ equipment, to help me restart the career I was building
No amount is too small. Every dollar, every share, and every kind word helps me move one step closer to stability, safety, and independence.
If you can, please donate and share my story with your friends and community. Your support means everything. Thank you for helping me rebuild from the ground up and showing me that there is still kindness and hope in the world.
With gratitude,
Jari Ubiera
