I am reaching out with this GoFundMe page to help the Gallagher and Dooley family of our dear friend and mother Mary Gallagher Cary who battled esophageal and liver cancer hard. She passed away on May 29 2020. The funds are needed to cover her final expenses and celebration of her life.
Mary was a very caring, patient and selfless person. She was an advocate for the feral and community cats in the Greater Richmond Area particularly with Trap/Neuter/Return (TNR) and often appeared on TV on several of the rescues that she spearheaded. She not only fostered, raised, and bottle fed kittens but also was a firm believer in educating people at a young age to be kind, gentle and compassionate to animals with the hope they would grow up to be respectful and caring individuals. She guided many adults on how to TNR and foster as well.
Mary's love and gentle nature touched so many people's hearts including strangers. Everyone who knew her can agree that she was a beautiful person with a kind soul.
We want to honor Mary by giving her the best celebration of life in return for all that she has given to the community. We are deeply grateful for any contribution and no amount is too small.
Mom may you rest in peace in the eternal kingdom of our Lord finally reunited with all our family and the thousands of animals who have gone before you. I know you are in the best company and not in pain anymore.
Whatever proceeds remain once everything is settled will be donated to either Operation Catnip or RAL.
