Help Logan get back on his feet

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Andrea and this beautiful boy is Logan! He turned up on my doorstep a few months ago - thin, covered in scabs and hobbling badly. I live on farmland in the middle of nowhere, and there he was, looking up at me with those big eyes of his as if to say 'Can you help me?'. Of course, we couldn't say no.

We fed him up, got him neutered and chipped and took him for x-rays. It turns out he'd probably been in a road accident before he found us. His left back leg is completely unusable and has fragments of bone floating around the knee, and because of that, he's been overusing his right leg, which has now become damaged and very weak.

He can't get through the cat flap and struggles to use the litter tray and scoots around with his two little chop stick back legs trying to catch up with his front legs! Despite all of that, he is the most loving, gentle and funny cat you can imagine. He plays when he can, usually from a lying position and loves my other two cats. It's as if he decided he was part of the family the day he arrived.

The vet says his left leg can't be saved, but we have a chance to save the right one - and that's essential if Logan is going to live comfortably and have a decent quality of life.

Treatment will take place at Mill Referrals, Ystwyth Vets and will be carried out by Kate O'Sullivan who is a small animal surgeon. She will decide whether Logan needs a Lateral Suture or a TPLO (Tibial Plateau Levelling Osteotomy) to stabilise the joint. She has given an estimate of around £1,500 for Lateral Suture and £2,500 for TPLO. We think that the Lateral Suture will be the best option for Logan and so we are looking to raise £1,500.

What the £1,500 covers:
The £1,500 we are raising is to cover Logan’s operation — the vital step that gives him his best chance of recovery.

What it doesn’t include:
Hospital stay and medication will depend on how he does after surgery, so those costs will be clearer afterwards. For now, our focus is on getting him through the operation and giving him that chance.

At the moment, Logan is on pain relief which gives him a new lease of life, but this is obviously a short-term solution. He's been through so much, but he's still so sweet and affectionate - he just needs a bit of help to get back on his feet.

If you can donate anything at all, we'd be so grateful. And if you can't donate, please share Logan's story - it all helps.

Thank you so much from both of us
Andrea & Logan X
