Hello! My name is Lucy Chow and I am very happy to say that I have been selected to represent Team Canada at the World Junior Ultimate Championships this summer in Wroclaw, Poland. Canada has a history of being successful in previous years at the World Championships and I would love to be a part of this once in a lifetime experience.

I was introduced to ultimate frisbee in grade 9 and I immediately grew fond of the sport. The following year, I joined Overdrive, a competitive juniors team from Toronto, ON. From there, I learned more about the sport and was constantly inspired by my coaches and teammates to keep playing and improving. During the 2014 season, our team competed at the Canadian Ultimate Championships and were undefeated to win gold. Winning gold with my team was one of the most incredible experiences and it is one I will never forget.


Since then, ultimate has become a significant part of my life. I have never been involved in something as welcoming and supportive, and it is safe to say that many of my dear friends were made through the ultimate community. I have received so much encouragement from friends, family, coaches, and teammates which truly helped me get to my goal of making Team Canada. 

Now that I have reached this goal of making a national team, there are costs that come with competing. We will be travelling by plane to training camps, tournaments, and the World Championships in Poland. Although I am working and saving money myself, I will not be able to pay for the full costs that cover travel, accommodations, and other fees. This is why am I asking for any financial assistance to help cover these costs and bring me to Poland. Every single donation helps! 


I would be absolutely honoured to represent my country this summer and I will be grateful for every dollar I receive. Thank you so much for reading and for every bit of support. I would not be where I am today without all of you. :)
