Melissa Goodwin, a dear friend of us here and afar. Melissa is fighting for her life with stage 4 lung cancer that has spread to her bones. Melissa has lived on St John for more than 11 years with her Master Electrician husband (Ziggy) as we all know him, Tim Goodwin. Melissa has been a big part of our community with her endless support, caring disposition, always cooking and caring for all of us when in need. Melisssa has always put everyone in front of herself in effort to help and make others happy always unconditionaly.
As many of you know Tim and Melissa just bought a new "fix me up" home in Florida. Melissa has taken residency and is able to take advantage of Obama Care.
That's just not enough. Melissa has taken 2 trips by ambulance (not covered by insurance) purchased many perscriptions (uncovered), paid out many medical bills for testing and appointments not to mention the countless trips to the doctors and hospitals.
Ziggy's need to be with his wife but still earn an income here on ST John which has put a real financial burden on them as well. Ziggy (Tim) is having to travel back and forth from Florida to St John to finish his business and bring in what money he can. This leaves Melissa alone or with family and friends when available. She has had amazing friends and family to help her through this difficult time during Ziggy's absence. To those people I say thank you with all my heart. You are angles sent from above.
Any funds raised will be used to help pay the medical as well as household expenses, allowing Ziggy to travel back and froth for a few more months to finsh what he started here on St John and bring in a some income. The funds are needed now.
Please help us raise some funds for this amazing lady that was and still is always there for us.
Funny short story: I spoke with Melissa recently from her hospital bed. We chatted for about 1 minute before she said to me, So how is Craig ( my husband and cancer surviror), how is the business going, what do you hear from my friends, let meknow if I can do anything for you guys...etc. Again always thinking of others.
WE STILL NEED YOUR HELP PLEASE. THE MEDICAL BILLS ARE PILINING UP.
