Hi, my name is Alice, and this is my best friend and the love of my life, Teddy. Teddy is my Emotional Support Animal and has been part of my family ever since I adopted him three years ago. He has accompanied me to my music rehearsals, performances, and symphonies and even walked the stage with me for my undergrad graduation! He's always been there to help me through the most challenging times when I was alone, especially throughout my musical career, and now I need to find a way to help him.
Teddy was unfortunately diagnosed with Uveitis on August 16th. I was hopeful he would slowly recover after being prescribed three different anti-inflammatory eye drops and two antibiotics to help combat whatever was causing this. But even after a month his condition only seemed to worsen, he lost complete vision in both eyes and he started to struggle walking with his back legs. After many tests with my primary vet, it turned out that this problem was more severe than Uveitis. An ophthalmologist and neurologist checked Teddy at UC Davis on September 19th and found out that he has a spinal cord problem in the middle of his back. After many tests, I was told that it could potentially be disc disease, inflammatory disease, or worst case—cancer. He is now admitted to the hospital for two days, where they are doing tests such as MRIs, CTs, taking spine samples, and other examinations.
As a current graduate student, I have already spent over $6000 trying to help my best friend, and I am working three jobs to do as much as I possibly can for him. But as his situation is worsening, I am now in a position where it is getting incredibly tough to support myself with all the vet bills.
It would mean the world to me if you could donate any amount to help save Teddy. Even sharing this would help me so much. 100% of these funds will go towards his total hospital stay, plus the other treatments that will arise soon when the doctors can figure out what is causing this.
The funds (some are also an estimate by the doctor) will be distributed in the following matter:
