My Study Abroad trip to Rome

My name is Lexie Perez, I am a Junior at Sacred Heart University. I am asking for help raising money to study abroad in Rome, Italy this summer. The study abroad trip costs roughly around $9,000. I work part time and my parents are helping to the best of their ability however, we are reaching out to friends, family, and those who believe in my passion to learn. The opportunity to go on this trip would mean so much more than I can put into words. Just to be able to see a new part of the world and experience what could potentially be a once in a life time opportunity is truly a blessing. As Saint Augustine once said, "The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page," this quote truly resonates with me because there is so much to life than what we see on a daily basis. Being from such a melting pot like New York I get to see the importance of this quote whenever I meet someone new. They open my eyes a little wider and push me out of my natural ignorance to strive to always want to learn something new each day and to never be comfortable with just enough. People from different backgrounds have so much to teach us and we have so much to learn that I am fearless to be without family in another country because I know the experience would give me so much more. Rather than asking for money for a new car or a trip with my friends, I am asking for help paying for an experience that will shape me to be a more dynamic and culturally aware young lady. In today's world where all we hear is negative news we need more people who are understanding and open to one another to spread love and understanding and learn from people all over the world. One day I plan to pay it forward to another young adult eagar to explore a new part of the world. I hope you can lending a helping hand in allowing me with this awesome opportunity and any contribution would be greatly appreciated.
