Hi!

My name is Melinda - I'm a very proud mum to Sophie, an aspiring professional dancer.

Sophie is a beautiful dancer with an incredible work ethic, who received direct entry to the Alberta Ballet School in Canada - the official training division for the Alberta Ballet Company, following a successful in-person audition in Melbourne, Australia.

This is her story.

Hi, my name is Sophie, and I am 16 years of age.

I started doing ballet at the age of 5 at a dance school in regional Queensland. My favourite genre is ballet and contemporary.

When I was 10, I knew I wanted to dance professionally and I have continued to work towards my goal. Through the support of my family, I relocated to Brisbane to further my training.

Dancing has been an enormous part of my life and gaining entry to Alberta Ballet School presents a lifetime opportunity to further my training even more and I couldn't be more excited for this next chapter.

Whilst monies raised won't cover all costs associated with my training, they will help ease the pressure for my family.

Your contribution will help towards:

• Tuition and boarding at Alberta Ballet School

• Academic uniform

• Dance uniform and equipment

• Pointe shoes and tights

• Return travel to/from Canada and Australia
