Help Martin Heal & Rebuild His Life After a Suicide Attempt
On March 23, 2025, my life changed forever. My son, Martin, just 21 years old, survived a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
He underwent life-saving surgery to remove part of his skull and spent weeks in the ICU fighting for his life. Against all odds, Martin is still here with us today — a miracle and a true fighter.
Since then, Martin has been working hard in rehabilitation. He is learning to walk, talk, and use his left side again. He battles painful spasms (clonus), foot drop, weakness, and memory challenges — but his spirit is strong. He loves music, art, and calligraphy, and he continues to dream of a brighter future.

Why We Need Help
While insurance helps with some basics, so much of what Martin needs to heal is not covered. I lost my job when I became his full-time caregiver, and the financial strain has been overwhelming as we try to keep up with medical and daily care needs.
Your support will go directly toward:
• Special helmets until Martin receives his cranioplasty (skull reconstruction surgery)
• Specialized therapies not fully covered by insurance (physical, occupational, speech, neuro-recovery)
• Braces, mobility supports, and therapy equipment for home
• Transportation to constant medical appointments
• Medical supplies and comfort items
• Everyday care needs while our family adjusts and supports him full-time

How You Can Help
Martin’s recovery is a long road, but he is determined. Every donation, big or small, helps us cover the essentials that keep him safe, supported, and progressing.
If you can’t donate, please share Martin’s story. Not only does it help us, but it also spreads awareness for suicide prevention and mental health in young adults.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing with Martin. With your support, we can help him heal, rebuild his life, and one day share his testimony of survival with the world.
