Help Brett Overcome Brain Cancer Challenges

Donation protected
Late summer/early fall of 2024, Brett started not feeling well. It started with severe headaches and nausea/vomiting. Convinced he was fine, had and in large part to avoid medical bills, he opted to not go to the doctor - convinced he would tough it out.

On December 20, 2024, Brett’s car slid off an icy road into a ditch. His dad, Brett Fine Sr, came to help him get the car out, seemingly okay - and he was on his way. After pulling in to the apartment, a nearby apartment manager witnessed Brett having a difficult time walking up the stairs. He was incoherent and having trouble communicating. Thankfully, this person helped him upstairs and shared his concerns on what he noticed, and recommended he get checked out and have his brain looked at.

That evening we finally got Brett to the ER and he was immediately admitted. They found a mass the size of a fist in his frontal lobe, largely pressing on his right optic nerve. Due to the size, severity, and symptoms, the hospital scheduled immediate surgery for the next morning. Removal of the mass went well, and while we knew some follow up would be required, we painfully waited through the holidays for the results.

On January 13, 2025 we learned the devastating and heart wrenching news. Brett was diagnosed with Glioblastoma - a very aggressive, incurable form of brain cancer. Our hearts are shattered, and we are trying to comprehend and process everything.

It is going to be a tough battle and an extremely long road ahead, but we are committed to fighting this battle with him - every step of the way.

We appreciate all the kind words, prayers, and meals that have been shared so far - it means so much to have so many people care! To help with the signifianct financial impact, we have decided to start this go fund me. All donations received will be used to supplement lost income from Brett’s inability to work and also to cover what we expect will be an exorbitant amount of medical costs in the coming months.

While we may feel broken right now - we are working to stay positive, strong, and fighting! We will do everything we can to beat this diagnosis. Any amount you can give towards this fight is greatly appreciated. Thank you!!
