Oh, Cooper. Our sweet, sweet boy.

Over the weekend Cooper kept vomiting and was not able to sit still so we took him into to the emergency vet. Thinking he was maybe just being a weirdo (per usual) and we would be home and snuggled up in no time.
After testing and x-rays they found a foreign object logged in his small intestine and needed surgery asap.
Because it was later in the night we had to take him to another emergency vet that was 24 hours so he would be monitored after surgery. We were told it should be a routine procedure and that he'd likely by home within 24 hours. We received a call at 2am letting us know the surgery went well and that it was an acorn that he swallowed.
I planned on calling over lunch to check in on him today but instead I received a gut wrenching call at 9am. They said he isn't responding well and hasn't moved much at all, immediately my heart drops. They went on to say he began showing unexpected neurological symptoms and the veterinarians believe he may have suffered a stroke or there could have been a blockage of blood flow to his brain. We go to be with him in hopes he would start acting a bit normal and move around or get up. We could tell he could hear us but his response time is just not where it needs to be. At one point he seemed to have had a seizure while we were with him. Our next option was to get him over to another 24 hour emergency vet that has a neurologist at their location.
He is currently in the ICU being closely monitored, waiting to see the neurologist and we've been told he may need an MRI and additional specialized care to understand what's happening.
We are patiently waiting to hear how he is doing and what the next steps will be, praying these next 24 hours it starts to look up for our Coop man.
Anyone who knows him knows how goofy, loving and full of life he is. Seeing him like this is heartbreaking, but we are doing everything we can to bring him back to his silly self.
This sudden medical crisis has already brought overwhelming expenses, and the costs continue to rise as he remains in intensive care. Any donation - no matter how small - will help us give him the treatments, tests and support he needs to fight through this.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness, generosity and prayers.
