Big personalities are tough to miss, but when they’re not present, their absence becomes blatant. And for the past few months, one such larger than life personality has been blatantly absent from our normal routines. Our mom, friend, and coworker Stacy Drury was diagnosed with breast cancer a few months ago.

Since her diagnosis, she has undergone rounds of chemotherapy treatments. These treatments have just successfully concluded with near complete resolution of the malignant mass. This is great news and great progress, yet there is still one more phase to complete in the coming weeks. Surgery is required to remove the lymph node to ensure further safety. While the surgery and reconstruction will take place in a couple of weeks, there is still more time needed for recovery post surgery.

Though we celebrate successful treatment thus far, the changes that come with chemotherapy are delicate and require time to acclimate and accept those new changes. After countless appointments, consultations and treatments, Stacy will be ready to get back to as normal as possible following surgery, but rest is essential for proper healing and recovery.

Stacy is much more than our favorite Outbacker. She’s a great mother and grandmother, a dependable friend, and a devoted volunteer. Always determined to help others around her in need, as evidenced by her enthusiasm in organizing and orchestrating charitable causes throughout the year with the help of her friends and fellow Outbackers, now Stacy needs us.

We hope to match her enthusiasm and devotion to charity by helping to lessen the financial burden of being away from work and encumbered by the weight of medical bills while she gets the necessary rest she needs to properly recover from such a tiresome fight.

She’s fought like hell and is so ready to get back to her life as she knew it. Your support is greatly appreciated, and your generosity will help cover medical bills, treatment costs, and daily necessities, including bills and everyday living expenses, allowing Stacy to concentrate on regaining her strength and embracing the promise of a healthier tomorrow.
