Saving Matthew
In January 2020, our brother, Matthew, was diagnosed with stage IV colorectal cancer at the age of 26. Matthew had just graduated from the Camden County Police Academy and was on the force for 1 week. Our brother was born and raised in the City of Camden, NJ and wanted to serve the community where he grew up. He strived to be part of something bigger than himself and wanted to make a difference in his life and the lives of others, but it was cut too short.
Matthew has been battling this cancer for a year and a half and it’s becoming tougher and tougher each and everyday. His cancer has metastasized to his liver and pancreas and his options are becoming limited. Matthew is a candidate for clinical trials but the cost is extremely expensive and something that our family cannot fully afford.
Our brother is always willing to help others and ask for nothing in return. Even during his battle with cancer, he helped family and friends with projects.
We are asking for the community’s support to help our brother, CCPD Officer Matthew Sviben. For those that truly know him, the world is a better place with someone like Matthew and he has so much to offer.
