Dear friends and family,
We recently received the heart-wrenching news that my beloved grandson, Jacob, was diagnosed with B-Cell Lymphoblastic Leukemia shortly after his second birthday. What we initially thought would be a routine check-up turned into the most challenging moment of our lives. On April 16, 2024, a blood test confirmed his diagnosis, and Jacob was immediately admitted to Yale New Haven Hospital to begin chemotherapy.
Jacob is a sweet, caring, and energetic toddler, and the team at Yale New Haven Hospital believes that with the right treatment, he has a strong chance of overcoming this. However, the road to recovery is long and arduous, spanning 2-3 years of intensive treatment. This includes chemotherapy, steroid treatments, periodic spinal taps, bone marrow aspirations, and necessary blood transfusions.
Despite already beginning his treatment, the first round of chemotherapy did not eliminate the cancer completely, so his treatment plan has intensified. Jacob will now receive chemotherapy for four consecutive days every few weeks. As you can imagine, the medical expenses are already accumulating, and the burden is overwhelming for my daughter and her family.
We are reaching out to our community to ask for your support during this incredibly difficult time. We have established a fund to help cover Jacob's medical expenses over the next few years. Any contribution, no matter how small, will directly alleviate the financial stress on Jacob's family, allowing them to focus on his care and well-being, as well as supporting his older brother.
On behalf of our entire family, we deeply appreciate any support you can offer. Your generosity will make a significant difference in Jacob's fight against leukemia.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
