On October 2019, our father, Robert James, who is a retired soldier of the US Air Force for 20 years, was diagnosed with Stage IV Esophageal Cancer. He has been having trouble consuming/swallowing liquids and food. He loved to eat so seeing him not being able to eat or have any appetite on what he used to love pains us. He also loves to have long walks and see the world but now he cannot sit or stand without feeling any pain. He had three cycles of chemotherapy in the Philippines and stopped in the third treatment cycle due to financial barriers. After this, he did not want to go back to the hospital unless we had the money no matter how much we convinced him.

After a few months, he finally agreed to be brought back to the hospital. He was now diagnosed with not only Esophageal Cancer but the cancer has also spread to his brain, spine, and other parts of his body and needed 6 bags of blood to be able to proceed to therapy. He is currently finishing his Radiation Therapy. After the radiation therapy, a chemotherapy will also be needed. With all of the treatment, scans and needs, our hospital bill is also increasing each day. He does not have the appetite to eat anything and his nutrition is decreasing which is why a tube is needed to put in his stomach to be able to deliver the nutrients into his body.
