Emergency Housing & Tiny Home Fund

Donation protected

Aloha, friends and family.

As some of you know, our family of three has been navigating a time of transition and uncertainty in the last year.  We have been searching for something that is lacking in our society, trying to find a better refuge and give Rowan a happy, healthy life in Nature.

It is hard to ask for help in this time of great global need, but we find ourselves stuck in between homes during the pandemic, and we need help to secure safe housing for our family.

Last Fall, we used the last of our savings to drive across the country in search of conscious, intentional community.  We heard of a place and found it and tried.  Over the Winter, we did work trade to stay on a desert ranch while Richard taught personal training sessions and worked at a restaurant in town.  When the ranch unexpectedly ran into financial trouble, we suddenly lost our housing.  Richard was forced to leave his job and we moved to a new area in search of community and a better life.

Richard managed to get another restaurant job quickly, but days after his hiring, we were told all restaurants and bars would be shutting down.  His parkour coaching work is also not possible right now, in the wake of gym closings and the need for physical distancing.  Sparrow does performance work, which is not available during this pandemic.

We are grateful to be staying with supportive friends until the 23rd of March, but we find ourselves stuck in the in-between without consistent income, as our savings for deposit money are lost to food and gas.  We are now unable to secure a place to live until new income can be found.
I don’t know if you’ve ever tried car camping with a toddler during a pandemic, but I don’t recommend it.  Rowan deserves better and we are desperate to provide that safe and happy home again.

Some will look down on us for falling through the cracks, but we are not the only ones.  Richard works hard and gives so much, but like many others, we have always had to live paycheck to paycheck.
We both try hard to provide the best possible start in life for Rowan.
We have long dreamed of building a tiny home on wheels so that Richard can teach movement anywhere, and our children will know they always have a safe home wherever we are.  But first we must live somewhere in order to build.

If any friends or family are able and feel called to invest in us, we will gratefully use those funds to secure immediate interim housing, get back on our feet while we find work, and begin collecting materials to build our tiny home.  All donations will be used for these specific needs:

*$3,000 would secure safe housing for our family.
*$1,000 would provide food and emergency funds until we can find more work.
*$3,000 would allow us to begin purchasing building materials for a tiny home, so that we will never be homeless again.

I know so many are struggling similarly right now.
We see you.
We pray this will be a time of great awakening in our country,
that all will realize we must take care of each other and the Earth.
We all need a living wage, universal
healthcare, paid parental leave, paid sick
leave, environmental protections, true
community, and social safety nets in times of crisis.
.

Thank you for reading this and caring
about us.  We love you.
Please stay home if you have a home
to stay in, and remember those who do not.

Blessings, friends, Be well ✨
