Help Me Protect My Daughter – Legal Funds Needed for Attorney

I am a single mother doing everything I can to keep my daughter safe. I receive no government assistance and have not received child support in months. I am the sole provider of my household.

In December, my daughter bravely disclosed that her father had sexually abused her. She gave specific, detailed information—including where proof of the abuse could be found. I immediately reported it to the police in Tucson Police, Phoenix Police, and the Department of Child Safety (DCS).

She completed a forensic interview, but like many children in traumatic situations, she wasn’t able to repeat everything she told me to a stranger. Despite this, she is consistent in what she shared with me. DCS later closed the case.

Her father refused to meet with detectives, ignored multiple requests to meet, and never turned over a tablet that could have proven the abuse or cleared his name. He has an attorney who has distorted the facts and buried the truth.

Because my daughter didn’t repeat every detail to DCS and we didn’t have physical evidence (due to her father withholding it), the court dismissed the order of protection I fought so hard to get. Before that, another order of protection had been in place for myself, my daughter, and my son due to threats of violence. That judge upheld it for my son and me but removed my daughter because she wasn’t threatened “directly.” His attorney has made it seem as though I have made up these horrific disclosures to keep my daughter away. I would never put my child through this trauma.

Now, I am being forced to send my daughter to spend weekends with her father. He is supposed to be supervised 24/7, but this is not being followed. The court has also ordered me to pay his legal fees, even though he has an attorney and I do not.

My daughter is now suffering physically and emotionally. She is in weekly therapy. Her pediatrician has provided a note explaining how the stress from this event has been affecting her causing heart palpitations, stomach aches, nightmares and other issues but the judge did not review it.

I have done everything right—called the police, reported to DCS, attended every court date, and followed every legal step. But the system has failed my daughter.

I am asking for help to raise the funds I need to hire an attorney to fight for her safety and her voice. I’m desperate. Please, if you can, help us. Every dollar will go directly toward legal fees to protect my daughter and prevent further harm.
