Fredricka Lewis Hughes 29 years old a young lady from Memphis TN. Fredricka passed away on December 13, 2022 at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville TN. She was a beautiful young lady that left behind two amazing young children, Jocelyn and Carter Hughes. Fredricka was diagnosed at the age of 3 years old with Sickle Cell Anemia "SS". During her entire life she had multiple surgeries and has been in and out the hospital. Doctor has always said her life was limited. Still battling with Sickle Cell she was a true fighter. And sweet soul. On October 9, 2022 Her heart and lungs started to fail, She went to Regional One Hospital in Memphis, TN. After ongoing test she needed a Heart and lung transplant. Fredricka was denied and didn’t Qualify (reason) Her body wasn't able to withhold the transplant. They Said she wasn’t going to make to see her Birthday December 23. Fredricka got in fight mode and wasn’t taking no for an answer. She researched the best Hospital here in Tennessee. And got transferred to Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, TN to see if she would be qualified for a heart and lung transplant there. She caught Covid-19 a week ago and had to be on a ventilator. She passed away on December 13,2022. Exactly 10 days before her Birthday/ Death date. Now the family need help getting her back home to Memphis TN and help paying for funeral expenses.
