My family in Gaza need help to evacuate

Donation protected
My family, thanks to all of you, is now safe in Egypt. (I haven’t shared this anywhere except in the update section.) Everyone is trying to start over. Unfortunately, Tal Al-Hawa was recently bombed, and with that came devastating news — the entire house they had is completely destroyed. There's nothing left of it. All the memories are gone, and sadly, there's no way of returning, even if a ceasefire happens. The children are now in school, except for the youngest ones, of course. But there are still so many challenges, and I’m overwhelmed trying to manage my own life here. The stress and worry are constant. We’re watching people we know die one by one, and we can’t help them — we can’t keep them alive. It's heartbreaking. I’m so grateful that my husband’s family is safe, but things are not getting any easier. They need help — this is the beginning of a completely new life for them. As for my husband’s immigration case, it's still processing. My lawyer has been unhelpful and rarely communicates, so I feel very alone in that situation. I truly wish I had better news to share.

Hello,

I am writing to you as Chantrelle, a concerned individual from the United States. I am reaching out on behalf of my in-laws and siblings-in-law, namely Manar, Majdy, Sarah, Farah, Dalia, Mohammad, Ashraf, Kareem, Hala, Sham, and Majdi, who are currently refugees in Rafah, Gaza. This group has endured significant adversities, including the total destruction of their residence on October 12th. Following this devastating event, they were compelled to evacuate, initially seeking refuge in Khan Younis before returning to Rafah due to escalating safety concerns. Their journey included a harrowing period of five days without shelter on the streets.

Among them, Manar and Majdy are suffering from severe health issues; Manar is battling diabetes and liver complications, while Majdy is afflicted with cruciate ligament injuries, diabetes, and hypertension. Their conditions have been exacerbated by a lack of access to necessary medications for over a month. The situation has become increasingly dire, particularly with the looming threat to Rafah’s security.

Our utmost concern is for their safety and well-being, especially considering the presence of two young children in the family, belonging to Mohammad. Given these circumstances, we are in urgent need of assistance to facilitate their safe evacuation from the current zone of conflict.

I must emphasize the dire conditions surrounding my family members in Rafah. The situation has escalated alarmingly, with bombs frequently dropping in close proximity to their location. This constant threat has not only endangered their lives but has also contributed to a state of panic and insecurity.

Moreover, the scarcity of food has become a critical issue, particularly affecting the young children in the family. They are facing severe malnutrition, with resources dwindling and access to basic necessities becoming increasingly challenging. The children's health is of paramount concern, as their vulnerability to starvation and disease is heightened under these conditions.

The combination of these factors—ongoing conflict, health crises, and now acute food shortages—underscores the urgency of the situation. Our family is in desperate need of immediate intervention to ensure their safety, health, and well-being. Assistance in securing a safe passage for them away from the conflict zone, and aid in providing for their basic needs, would be invaluable during this critical time.

I reiterate my plea for help, hoping for a swift response to alleviate the suffering of my family members and especially the innocent children who are caught in this devastating situation.

Any support or guidance in this matter would be profoundly appreciated.

Thank you for your attention to this urgent plea.

Best regards,

Chantrelle
