Support Maria's Legacy:Easing The Financial Burden
Donation protected
Hello everyone,
I am Isaiah, and I am reaching out to you today on behalf of my beloved mother and best friend, Maria Angelica Archuleta, affectionately known as Angie. We are currently facing an incredibly challenging time in our lives, and my family and I humbly seek your support.
20 + years ago Maria was diagnosed with Systemic Lupus erythematosus known as (SLE). SLE is an autoimmune disease in which the immune system attacks its own tissues, causing widespread inflammation and tissue damage in the affected organs. Every month she had to attend a chemotherapy hospital for an 8-hour drip of Benlista to help the autoimmune disease that made her so sick for 3-5 days throwing up the toxins from the medicine. She was also diagnosed with Pancreatitis 20 years ago which caused such bad pain under her right rib daily she was constantly battling chronic nausea from both her Lupus and Pancreatitis. She went through constant hospital visits to cut open her pancreas and drain it leading to long stays in the hospital.
On the morning of March 4, 2023, I rushed my mom to the emergency room at Washington Hospital in Fremont. Filled with hope and desperation, her words to the doctors and me echoed, "I long to see my grandkids grow up; please do whatever it takes to save me!"
My mom has been an unwavering fighter, relentlessly battling the relentless grip of COVID-19 and its relentless complications. While she was admitted it was discovered that she had been possibly misdiagnosed with Lupus, a condition she fought for over 20 + years taking heavy meds that was hurting her. My mom resonates a light that she brings into the lives of those around her. Her joyous stories, indomitable will to survive, and boundless love for everyone have captured the hearts of her doctors and nurses as she continued her fight against COVID-19 in her lungs. My family and I have stood faithfully by her side, fighting this battle with her while watching her steadily decline from walking to needing more and more oxygen over the 75 days we've been in Washington Hospital.
Three weeks ago, my mom was found gasping for air and desperately pleading for help from her hospital bed. Her condition deteriorated significantly, and she was swiftly rushed to the ICU, where she was put on a ventilator. We now find ourselves in a race against time. Throughout this arduous journey, the dedicated ICU medical team at Washington Hospital has remained by our side.
Sadly, my family and I recently received devastating news on May 21, 2023 – our time with our light on earth is limited, and soon she will find peace in the embrace of Heaven.
Amidst the emotional turmoil we are enduring, we now face the overwhelming financial burden of funeral expenses soon to come. It is during these trying times that we turn to our community, friends, and compassionate individuals like you for support.
We kindly ask for your help in any way possible. Your generous donations, regardless of their size, will have a significant impact in alleviating the financial strain we currently face. By contributing, you will provide us with the ability to fully focus on being present with my mom during her final moments, rather than worrying about the looming expenses that await us.
Your support will not only demonstrate kindness but also serve as a tribute to the remarkable legacy my mother leaves behind. My mom has touched the lives of many, spreading love, compassion, and joy wherever she goes. For over 12 years, she diligently served as a board member for the Alameda Alliance Committee Board. In July of 2022, she was promoted to the esteemed position of Chairman but had to step down shortly after due to her illness from COVID-19. Your contribution will help honor her memory and enable us to provide her with the farewell she truly deserves.
We deeply appreciate your consideration and compassion during this profoundly challenging time. Every donation, prayer, and act of support brings us comfort and strength. Let us join hands and make a difference together, offering solace in our darkest hour.
Thank you for your unwavering kindness.
With heartfelt gratitude,
The Archuleta Family
