Healing After Bushwick Hit & Run — Support for Olive’s Recovery
INTRODUCTION
Hi Friends, community, and kind strangers. My name is Olive. Some of you know me as Pineapple O. I am a performer and artist living in Brooklyn, New York. On Saturday, 11/22/25, I was struck by a car in a hit and run accident in my Bushwick neighborhood. The driver sped off, leaving me seriously injured and facing a long road to recovery. I am grateful to be alive, but the aftermath has been overwhelming.
WHAT HAPPENED
The car drove off, I repeatedly recited the license plate number out loud and a good neighbor nearby typed it down on his phone. A police report has been filed.
I suffered from a neck fracture—wearing a neck brace for 4 weeks; fibular fracture in the left leg—immobilized in a leg brace for 4 weeks; right hand injury; right shoulder was already frozen before accident, now in increased pain; bruised knees; left big toe injury, constant headache and full body soreness.
I am currently unable to walk normally, work or commute by myself, and will need to attend multiple hospital appointments in the coming weeks. It may take up to 3-6 months for me to regain strength and mobility, and 6 to 12 months for full restoration to return to near-normal activity.
WHAT IT MEANS
I’m doing my best to stay present, but I’m still processing the shock. My partner John has become my full-time caretake while managing his own responsibilities - financially and emotionally. We’re navigating medical bills, lost work hours, transportation costs, and daily living challenges while I recover.
WHY I’M ASKING FOR HELP
Your support would help me cover:
Medical expense—appointments, scans, physical therapy.
Daily care—transportation, home safety items, food delivery.
Lost income—recovery = no ability to work right now.
Legal help—attorney fees from the hit and run case.
Even $5 or $10 helps more than you can imagine. If you can’t donate, sharing this is a powerful form of support <3
Your kindness and generosity will make a world of difference as I navigate this difficult time. Thank you for standing with me on my journey to recovery.
THANK YOU !
With love,
Olive
& John
