My name is Stephanie and my sister-in-law Renee fell ill with pneumonia due to covid. After 2 weeks of being in the hospital she was put on life saving support and was transferred to San Diego. Renee is finally stable and the doctors are hopeful. She will have a long recovery ahead of her. Renee was put on a ventilator and after a few days the doctors discovered she had a sinus infection. They had no choice but to do a tracheotomy. Renee is going to need a lot of physical therapy as well as speech therapy. Renee would hate this. She would silently try and figure it out herself. I don’t want that for her. I want her to focus on recovery without the stress of the medical bills and constantly thinking “well how much is this going to cost”. While she has insurance we all know it only goes so far. Please, any amount would greatly help her and her family.
