Giving the gift of hearing
Donation protected
Our friend and co-worker, Christine, built an entire career of serving kids who face adversity or live with a disability. She is a highly respected professional whose expertise in speech and language has produced a positive impact on students and adults alike!
Last December, Christine was able to beat COVID! But COVID is a jerk and, when it left, it took her hearing with it. She lost 100% of her hearing in the left ear and a portion in the right ear. Christine tried multiple treatments, with no success, and she and her treatment team decided her best course of action was an implant to regain sound awareness in her deaf ear.
Christine was excited for this option, especially as an SLP who has dedicated her career to communication. Unfortunately, just a couple weeks before the scheduled surgery, insurance notified Christine that they have a clause concerning the hearing implant and will cover $0.00!
Christine has decided to go through with the surgery anyway, as it is her best chance to regain some sound awareness in her left ear, but she will have to cover 100% of the cost out of pocket, almost $30,000.
We love this lady so much, and she is always unfailingly generous to others (if she's been your process coordinator, you know what I'm talking about!) We decided to try and help cover some of her costs with GoFundMe, and we hope if Christine has blessed your life in some way that you'll be willing to bless her back, with whatever you can.
Thank you all!
With Love,
Her PC PodMates/#1 Fans
