Rent for Sober Living House.

Hi everyone. I’m trying to raise some money for my sister. As some of you may not know, back in October Melissa was in ICU on life support for a drug overdose. It was devastating to her children and our family, we all came together to help her. Of course our big brother, Gary stepped right in, made phone calls, took off work, and was her main support to get her headed in the right direction. Melissa did not hesitate for the help, she was ready to take back her life and go get treatment. With that being said, I’d like to mention how broken our system is for addicts to get help. My brother went through so many loops but here we are, and on Friday , Melissa will be 60 days clean. This is huge as she has suffered from addiction on and off for almost 20 years.

Melissa finished treatment and is currently living in a sober living house. With that ,of course comes some expenses. She is currently in intense outpatient treatment mon-thurs from 9am-4pm which doesn’t leave a lot of time for her to work. She will be doing this treatment for 6-8 weeks. Her rent is covered until Jan 8th (thanks to a wonderful family member of ours). This is the last thing I want her to stress about, so any help would be so greatly appreciated.

I do want to add. Please no negativity. You have no idea the pain and suffering our family has gone through with her addiction. As well, as what it has put her and her children through. I used to be one of those people that judged addicts but you have no clue what it’s like until it’s one of your loved ones. It takes so much strength and courage for her and all I want I’m I do is see her succeed!
