Help Jack Rebuild After Fire Loss
Donation protected
On March 14th a fire started in a Bellefontaine Neighbors subdivision. My dad, Jack Reynolds, went to help his neighbor with the fire and the extreme winds caught onto it, spreading it to neighboring homes. My dad’s house was one of them. By the time he realized his house was on fire, it was too late and he was not able to grab anything. He was thankfully able to get his dog out safely.
My dad is an avid antique collector and took pride in his collection. As he does not have home insurance, everything in his home is gone forever, including the home where my great-grandparents lived for 55+ years. All he has are the clothes on his back. Anything you can contribute helps. We appreciate each and every one of you!
Update 3/18: we want to thank everyone who has donated so far! You all don’t realize the impact you’re making. We’ve been able to order multiple dumpsters to clear out all of the rubble around the house. It’s not something we are required to do, but my dad wants to make sure it’s completely safe around the area, as it is a neighborhood with lots of kids running around. We’ve also found some gems beneath the rubble; things my dad didn’t think he’d ever see again. Watching his eyes light up when we find them has been a joy in this overall devastating journey. Anyone that knows us knows we’re the most sarcastic people ever, so we’ve been making it as fun as we can by picking on each other. The hardest part will come after the rubble is clear, when we will need to help get our dad, Jack, choose a permanent place to live, as well as furnish and fill his life with new belongings.
