Ace is a one and a half year old rescued German Shepherd. He was an unexpected blessing. We already have 2 dogs at that time and we didn’t think we could handle another one. But we ended up still taking him and I’m glad we did! that was one of the greatest decision we ever made. Ace is a very good dog, He loves to run... that’s what we do together almost everyday before I go to work. He gets along so well with my kids (his brothers). He loves to take small stuffs inside the house like our socks, underwear, random rocks anything you could think of. then he would take it to his secret spot. He’s a silly dog and we love him for that.

But now, Ace is fighting for his life. My worst fear happened. He was hit by a car when he ran across the street after seeing me coming couple blocks away from our house. He sustained a broken femur and went to shock. The vet was able to stabilize him and he got surgery the next day but a day after the surgery he went into shock again and had to be rushed to the ER. Turned out fluid was leaking into his abdomen cavity and he had less than 10% chance of survival. We chose to carry on with trying to save him and he surprised everyone when he started pulling through. He suffered some minor setbacks and had to stay at the animal hospital. We continued to do what we can but the bills have mounted up. When the doctor asked me if I would want to just give up on Ace and just send him to the animal shelter I straight up told the doctor NO, Even though in the back of my mind I had no idea how we’re gonna handle all the bills. I just couldn’t. There’s no way I would give up on him. He’s part of the Family. I know most of you would understand that.  My 5yrs old son witnessed the accident and he would always always ask me “When his Brother is coming home?” It breaks my heart. But I know Ace is a trooper And just like how he smiles on those photos despite all the pain he’s going through right now I would continue to have the hope that one day Ace will be home with us again healthy and happy. Pets are like children you would do anything for them. And you would never ever be ready to let them go weather it is time or not.
