Rise Up for Robby

As many of you may know, our family was blessed with a beautiful baby boy this past summer. On July 19, 2019, much to my brother and sister in-laws surprise, Robert Henry Marino made his spirited arrival approximately six weeks before his expected due date. From the moment he was whisked away to the NICU at birth, then off to a distant hospital for more advanced care, and now to a different unit as he has grown, his parents have demonstrated an inspirational example of true love. This courageous angel has proved to be a real fighter, but babies born with rare disorders are racing against the clock from the moment they arrive. Imagine being told that there is not enough available research to treat your baby's disorder.
Over the past few months, our family has experienced a series of highs and lows as Robby's rare condition went undiagnosed and continues to puzzle even the most esteemed medical professionals. Yet, through it all, Rob and Shana have stood steadfast by their son. Not a simple task to endure while raising an eighteen month old daughter and working to support the cost of caring for a medically-complex child. Of course, our parents have dedicated themselves to their assistance and support, and we are fortunate to have each other as well as some really amazing friends and family. At this time, baby Robby remains in the PICU at Nemour’s Children’s Hospital, but his family is eagerly preparing for his homecoming. Upon his homecoming, baby Robby will require 24 hour homecare and home alterations will be necessary to accommodate his vital medical equipment. It is our family’s hope that we can raise the funds necessary to alleviate some of the financial stress that these preparations entail.
