Hello!

My name is Jennifer Brown, and I’m creating this GoFundMe because I recently underwent gastric sleeve surgery on April 16th to support my weight loss journey and improve several serious health conditions.

For years, I’ve struggled with both medical and mental health challenges related to my weight. Over the past year, I’ve made significant progress in my healing. I now have over one year clean from drugs and alcohol, have been actively participating in therapy, and have returned to working at a job I love—caring for adults with disabilities as a part-time healthcare worker.

This surgery is a major step toward becoming the healthiest, happiest version of myself. However, I’ve unexpectedly learned that my recovery will take longer than I anticipated. I was originally told I could return to work within a few days, but I now need at least four weeks to fully heal and adjust to my new dietary needs.

As I wait for possible approval for partial paid leave, I’m facing financial strain from missing work. Between rising rent, bills, and the specific dietary requirements post-surgery, I’m asking for help to make it through this recovery period.
