Taylor Robinson's Heart

Donation protected
On September 8th, 11-year-old Taylor Robinson was rushed to the ER after passing out at home. On September 9 Taylor’s heart was failing to function properly and was put on ECMO life support to give her heart time to recover from the virus that was effecting its function. The next day another procedure was done to her heart to try to help the recovery. By September 18 her heart had not recovered enough to support her body so she was taken off of ECMO support and put on VAD life support. This life support helped her heart recover. On September 30 she had a stroke caused by a clot in the brain and had a emergency procedure to remove the clot. On the same evening she had the VAD life support removed and her heart started supporting her body. As of October 24 her lungs are still weak and medical staff is planning to do a tracheotomy and a Gport to boost her recovery. On November 2 Taylor had a tracheotomy. The GI port was postponed because her abdomen is still recovering from the other surgery’s. She is slowly gaining strength and is adjusting slowly to the trach in her neck. Her respiratory function is still boosted by a ventilator.  Her condition is still considered to be critical. Her hospital stay is estimated to be lengthy. On Thanksgiving day Taylor moved to rehabilitation area at the hospital. Christmas Day finds Taylor still in the rehab area at the hospital. She is gaining strength and endurance. Her dismissal date from the hospital has not been established. Her recovery has been a miracle but is not yet finished. January 23 medical staff performed a scope on her throat to make sure it was healthy enough to support her breathing without the trach. Her throat looked good and the trach was removed. On January 26 Taylor was dismissed from the hospital and was allowed to go home to finish her recovery. Thanks to everyone that has supported Taylor and her family financially and with their prayers. Taylor had a in home teacher for a few weeks and she did well with her school work. Taylor started back to school March 30 for four hours a day.

The outstanding heart surgeons, ECMO operators, nurses, physical therapists, respiratory therapists, and the entire cardiac wing at Children’s Medical Center are doing everything in their power, along with the grace of God, to help Taylor recover from Myocarditis.

Mom, Dad, and Sister are spending every day and night at the hospital with Taylor, a necessary part of her recovery – the emotional love and support of family.

Mom, Beth, works nights at Amazon but now has taken a leave of absence to stay with Taylor. Dad, Leslie, is retired but works various jobs to help bring in additional income to help raise his precious girls. Both Mom and Dad are needing to be at the hospital to care for Taylor while also getting her sister, Ashley, back in school. The drive from Saginaw to Children's Medical Center in Dallas, purchasing meals daily at the hospital, the unfathomable hospital cost, and stepping away from work are financially overwhelming.

We have set up this GoFundMe to alleviate some of this financial burden. Any amount you give will help Mom, Dad, and Sister help Taylor recover!

We are trusting in Philippians 4:19. "And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus."

Love and blessings,
