Please help Cooper's family stay by his side

On December 28th, everything changed in an instant. My youngest son, 21-year-old Cooper Guidry, was involved in a devastating accident that has left him fighting for his life. A tire blowout on the interstate caused his truck to flip multiple times, ejecting him from the vehicle. The injuries Cooper sustained are severe and life-altering.

He is currently in critical condition with multiple brain bleeds, brain swelling, several fractured vertebrae, serious injuries to his pelvis, hip, and back, along with numerous fractured bones and injured organs. Cooper has not yet woken up and remains heavily sedated and on a ventilator. as if the list weren't long enough, he now has pneumonia as a result of being on the ventilator. The full impact of his brain injury is still unknown — only time will tell.

Cooper is in the Neuro ICU at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, on a ventilator, as doctors work to reduce the swelling in his brain. Watching your child lie in a hospital bed, surrounded by machines keeping him alive, is a pain no parent should ever know.

He is hospitalized hours away from home. Our family is traveling nearly six hours back and forth, sleeping in waiting rooms, missing work, and facing overwhelming expenses — all just to stay close to Cooper during this critical time.

Asking for help does not come easily to me. I have always found a way to manage on my own. But this time, I truly need help.

Donations will help cover food, hotel accommodations, travel, lost wages, and medical-related expenses so our family can focus on what matters most — being there for Cooper. Any remaining funds will go toward his continued care once he is able to leave the hospital.

Cooper has a long, uncertain road ahead. One filled with intensive medical care, rehabilitation, and recovery far beyond this hospital stay.

We are asking for prayers first and foremost. If you are able to give, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. If you cannot donate, please consider sharing Cooper’s story.

Every prayer. Every share. Every donation. It all matters.

Thank you for standing for Cooper with us during this unimaginable time. ❤️
